Game Night Planner
A good game night has a rhythm: something quick while people arrive, a main game when everyone is settled and a fun closer. Enter how many players, when you start, how long you have and who is coming. The planner builds a simple timeline, suggests game types that fit your group size and works out snacks and drinks.
How it works
- Timeline: 20-30 min arrivals with a quick game, the main game, a 15 min snack break, then a light closer; longer nights get a second main game
- Groups: most board games play best with 2-6 players, so larger groups split into tables of about 4-6
- Snacks = about 1 bowl per 3 players per 2 hours, rounded up
- Drinks = 2 per person in the first hour, then 1 per person each hour after
Teach the main game with a short practice round instead of reading all the rules aloud. Keep greasy snacks away from the cards!
Three things this tool can't see
- Your games shelf. Game types are general. Pick games you already own that match each slot.
- Allergies. Ask guests about allergies and label snacks with nuts.
- Age ratings. Check age ratings for games with kids, and keep small pieces away from little ones.
